| The horse pictured here is a half-Arabian gray
pinto. The pinto markings are more difficult to spot due to the gray base
coloring. This gelding is ridden primarily in hunter pleasure and jumping
classes. Arabian/Quarter Horse crosses are most frequently used for Western
pleasure, reining, and cutting disciplines, Anglo-Arabians (Arabian/Thoroughbred
crosses) are popular for endurance, hunter/jumper, and dressage competitions,
Arabian/Warmblood crosses are frequently used for dressage competition,
as the Arabian provides the soundness and agility needed for dressage, Arabian/draft
crosses are used to produce warmbloods, and Arabian/Pinto and Arabian/Appaloosa
crosses are used to produce "colored" horses with Arabian type
for various competitions. |
